The Glock

Ah, the Glock. Best piece of defensive-gun I've seen. This wonderful union of steel and plastic is anybody's best choice for a concealed-carry street gun. Lightweight and simple to use. No external safety, no decocking lever, no hammer...just pull the trigger and BANG! Nice, considering that in a self-defence situation, you'd have a hundred other things to worry about.

Contrary to popular belief, ONLY the Glock's frame is made of plastic. The Glock still has a steel slide, slide ramps, internal parts, magazine and it fires metal bullets from metal casings through a steel barrel. Heck, even the plastic still shows up in airport X-rays.

Glock 22 - This is my choice model for everyday carry. It's a full framed Glock firing 15 rds. of .40S&W cartridges (if you're lucky enough to own the pre-ban magazines, that is. Otherwise, it's just 10 rds.). Barrel lenghth is 4.48 inches.

If you can't get the pre-ban magazines, then I suggest you make best use of your 10 rds: with the .45ACP cartridge. And what better .45ACP carry-gun than the Glock 30 ? (Okay, okay! I know there are some of you who swear by Colts and such but let's face it, I'm a Glock kinda guy...). This little bugger is a fistfull, holding 9+1 rds. of man-stopping .45ACP cartridges. The barrel length of 3.7 inches is pretty good for it's size. It's a little too thick for ankle-carry though...you'll need bell-bottoms to conceal it.
